There are two game modes in The Incident: a story mode and infinite mode. It presented in 8-bit style, with a chip-tunes soundtrack and bright, blocky graphics. The controls are really simple, using tilt to move left to right, and a tap for jump. Frank Soloway is surprisingly well animated, pushing against objects and wincing when he gets hit in the head! It's a very charming game, and one of the most cheerful apocalyptic experiences you could hope to have!
There are no online or multiplayer modes, although it is supported by Game Center, and you can tweet your achievements and scores at the end of your game. Curiosity about what The Incident is caused by is enough motivation for you to keep pushing Frank Soloway to the top, but the gameplay is really good fun anyway. The 'Endless Nightfall' infinite mode of The Incident is a great way to keep you coming back for more high scores. It's faster and harder that the story version, but just as much fun.
